Forty days, mamas. And today I want to teach you the most useful skill in this whole programme.
🤲 WHAT DOMING ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
I've been telling you "stop if your belly domes" for forty days. Today let's make sure you'd actually know.
Put one hand flat on your midline, fingers across the line from your breastbone down to your belly button. Press very lightly — just resting.
Now do a rep.
Soft and even under your palm? Good. That's what we want.
A firm ridge rising up the centre, pushing your fingers apart? That's doming. Like a narrow tent lifting under your hand.
Your hand sinking into a soft valley? That's the other version — the tissue giving way instead of holding. Same message: too much load.
Either one means make it smaller.
🔑 WHY YOUR HAND, NOT YOUR EYES
Because in half these positions you can't see your belly, mamas.
Wall sit — you're upright, looking at the room. Sit-to-stand — you're moving. Bridges — your hips are up and your head is back.
Looking only works lying flat. Your hand works everywhere.
That's why we practise it today. By Day 90 you want this to be automatic — hand on, feel, adjust. No thinking required. 💛
💪 GRADUATES: 45-second wall sits, 15 sit-to-stands, 4 single-leg bridges — hand on midline for all of it.
🌱 NEW TO THE 21: 15-second wall sits, 10 sit-to-stands. 💛
Every exercise today, one hand on your midline. All of them. Then — this is the useful part — try it off the mat. When you stand up from a chair. When you lift something heavy. When you cough. Reply with where you felt it most. For a lot of mamas it isn't during exercise at all. It's lifting a car seat or a toddler. 💛
📌 TODAY'S FOCUS
Forty days, mamas. Not quite halfway. Here's what I hope you take away today. The most valuable thing I can give you isn't a list of exercises. It's the ability to tell, by yourself, whether a movement is safe for your body right now.
Because in fifty days this challenge ends, and I won't be in your ear every morning. You'll go to a yoga class, or try a workout video, or pick up something heavy at home.
A mama who can feel her own midline doesn't need to ask whether an exercise is safe. Her hand tells her in one rep.
That's what I'm actually trying to teach you. The exercises are just how we practise. 💪💛
